Sorry I haven't written a review in like 2 months, I've been really busy. Studying for finals and the stress of homework and everything. At the end of June I took an Alaskan Cruise with my family and it was very fun!
The novel I'm going to be reviewing is called Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire. The novel is about a young woman named Abby who is trying to fit in as best as possible in college, along with her best friend America and her boyfriend Shepley. One night she decides to go to an illegal fight where she meets Travis Maddox, Shepley's cousin. He is in a sense a known player at his school where he sleeps with women, as a one time thing. Travis at first wants to hook up with Abby but she is cold and doesn't believe in that thing. They soon decide to be friends and later become best friends due to a bet made by Travis.
Review:
This novel was an amazing read about love, heartbreak, and friendship. With Abby changing Travis without even trying, it is now one of my favorite books. About a bad boy falling under the spell of the untouched good girl.

Release Date: June 25, 2013
This was a nail biting, and hair pulling book that kept you on your toes and wanting to read more. The main character Amy is a 17 year old girl living in her home with a child she found during the invasion named Baby. An alien invasion happened in which these creatures would kill humans by tearing them to shreds and eating them. Amy has to fend for herself and Baby by always having her electric fence on, and not making any sounds. Through her struggles she must journey through the city to grocery stores for canned foods in order to survive. I think this novel is a good book for anybody who likes to read about apocalypse's, aliens, and dystopian! Demitria has written an amazing book that everyone should pick up when it is released. Is Amy and Baby the only surviving humans? or are there others out there? If you want to find out you have to wait till it's release date(:

It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini
This book is a coming of age novel about a young boy named Craig who is contemplating killing himself. When he has the sudden urge to jump of a bridge he checks himself into a mental hospital not knowing what he has gotten himself into. During his stay he takes life into a new perspective and along the way has ups and downs and even meets new friends there. I think this novel was a funny, sad, novel for anyone who has ever thought about killing themselves. Pick up a copy first and see what you would miss(: You might even relate to Craig and he will help you get through any difficult stages you might go through.
